About the Books

The Shape of Disappearing Letters — Marty Gervais

In this deeply moving collection, Marty Gervais transforms the experience of vision loss into an unexpected source of clarity. Written during the progression of age-related macular degeneration, these poems explore a world becoming softer and more uncertain—yet also more luminous and strange. What emerges is a powerful meditation on perception, resilience, and the beauty of what remains.

When You’re Down on Your Knees in a Field Called Forever — John B. Lee

John B. Lee’s latest collection is a luminous exploration of devotion, memory, and the erosion of communal life. Expanding his autobiographical journey, Lee reflects on the fragile beauty of shared experience—reminding us that when people gather, when they sing together, something essential and unifying still endures.

“It is fitting that, this year, Mosaic Press has released a collection of poetry by each of these talented and influential artists—a celebration of sorts and, for each of them, an invitation to explore themes of generational memory and lessons learned. And as with everything they do, Gervais and Lee do not disappoint.
— Peter Hrastovec, current Poet Laureate for the city of Windsor
