In My Transplanted Life, Susan Ksiezopolski explores what it means to be uprooted and re-rooted, weaving together the personal and the universal in a lyrical reflection on immigration, identity, and resilience. Born in Italy and raised in Canada, the poet reflects on the lasting imprint of home, family, language, and land—tracing the emotional and cultural shifts that shape a transplanted life.

With grace and emotional clarity, Ksiezopolski captures the quiet complexities of growing up between worlds: the nostalgia for origins, the struggle to belong, and the transformation that comes with adaptation. These poems traverse memory and landscape, anchoring the reader in the spaces where past and present meet.

My Transplanted Life offers a selection of both new and previously published works, showcasing Ksiezopolski's evolution as a poet and her unwavering commitment to exploring the depths of the human heart. This collection is a profound exploration of resilience, finding beauty in the midst of change, and flourishing despite life’s challenges.

The collection is thoughtfully divided into two parts, “Seeds of Promise” and “Harvest of Renewal,” each exploring the multifaceted nature of transformation. In “Seeds of Promise,” readers are invited to witness the budding of resilience, as the poet delves into themes of identity, belonging, and the quiet strength that emerges from life’s uprootings. Poems such as “My Transplanted Life” and “Where I am From” poignantly capture the essence of adapting to a new home while honouring one’s roots.
