A Nomenclature for Light is a collection of poems that capture the light in moments loved and lived, with the heartbreaking awareness that they, like everything else, will end. They are elegies to the beauty of reality within and all around us. They are contemplations on the miracle we call life.
In this collection, the poet deconstructs the appearance of solidity in objective reality to reveal a luminous essence intertwining everything and filling every crevice of seemingly empty space. There is no separation. In that spirit, words are light illuminating our consciousness from the pages of a book. The book is light: molecules cohering into a matrix of paper pulp and ink. The poet writing is a magician of light, with a pen of light writing words of light on a vellum of photons. They are stars within luminous stars — a trail of luminescence, a continuous stream of phosphorescent points cohering meaning out of so much beauty.
In these poems, the poet scribes her love for the people and everything she has ever loved. It is her hope that they inspire the reader to do the same, or at least to begin to appreciate the wonder of the world and of each moment we have been given as a gift to exist within this magnificent universe.
